THIS IS THE LAST GATING CRITERIA UPDATE FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR!

Summer School Guidance and Protocols will be released June 1st on our district website and Facebook page.

Reno County Schools are in the GREEN  Zone for the week 5-24-2021.  Because the number of people tested is low, we will be using the New Case Count (along with district positive cases and quarantines as secondary factors) for our School Gating Criteria.

For information on Buhler data see our landing page at:

For information regarding the community data please see: https://www.renogov.org/239/Health-Department

The 14-Day PTR and new case count were not updated from last week, however, cases have continued to decline.  At this time, we have 19 Active cases, whereas two weeks ago we were at 31 Active cases.  The last report from May 10, the 14-Day PTR and New Case count is:

  • 14 Day PTR:  5.2%  (green zone but low test population)
  • New Case Count:  46  (green zone)

We continue to follow safety protocols that include but are not limited to:

  • Wiping down desks between classes
  • Sanitizing hands
  • Wiping down frequently touched surfaces
  • Spreading out during lunch
  • Emphasizing social distancing

REMINDER:  As our buses are running at capacity, please remind students that face masks are required on our buses.

UPDATED Vaccination Information from Reno County Health Department:

Kansas is now vaccinating individuals 12 – up, vaccines do need to be age appropriate for the individual (Pfizer 12 yrs. and up, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson is for 18 yrs. and up).  You may go to https://vaccinefinder.org/  and find locations that have the brand you are looking for.   Reno County Health Dept. is scheduling appointments and walk-ins or go online and visit the Hutchinson Clinic, Dillon’s pharmacies, Walmart or The Medicine Shoppe for availability.

If you are sick you may get tested through your provider or the Free Community Testing site.  Log on to  https://www.gogettested.com/ for more information and directions as to how to sign up.

Encourage students over 12 to be vaccinated, they would not be excluded from end of year activities if they were exposed to Covid-19, as we would consider them immune for 6 months after they are 2 weeks post fully vaccinated.  Please encourage parents and students to consider this option
